    Can't Get Updates- Broken package

    Well (I'm back on the bleedin' Edge!) can't get updates since late yesterday. Adept and Synaptic report broken package. Synaptic states that it is liibstdc++6 which can't be updated?? Anyone else and is there anyway I can bypass this?

    Hope you have all had a wonderful xmas, and I have realised that I get bored if I am not living on the Bleeding edge!

    TG Further addition to this here is the problem via Synaptic:

    E: Internal Error, Could not perform immediate configuration (2) on
    libstdc++6

    Can anyone help or point me in the right direction? Looks like its only me getting this then.

    What happens when you go to a command line and run "sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade"?

      Well they all seem to come down but.... it then stops at 'failed to fetch cd-rom (here it obviously means the HH install Cd rom so what do I need to add to the commands so that it sees the CD (which is in the drive by the way) but it does seem to be getting them.

        Re: Can't Get Updates- Broken package

        Well... there really won't be any updates to fetch for the CD, since it's static.

        I would simply 'sudo kate /etc/apt/sources.list' and comment out the cdrom source (put a # in front of the line).

            Open Adept Manager, click "Adept > Manage Repositories" and on the "Third Party" tab, highlight the CD ROM and "Remove" it with the button in the lower right of the window.

              Thanks for that Dibl, its always something so simple isn't it?

              You are all so supportive on here, I wouldn't contemplate being at the 'bleeding edge' without you posters and your help!

                Well I have tried everyones suggestions used sudo apt-get&&sudo apt-get upgrade also removed the CD from the third party repositories as per dibl's suggestion and still I get this......

                E: Internal Error, Could not perform immediate configuration (2) on libstdc++6

                So of course the updates/upgrade then stops and does not go ahead Any more suggestions and why is it only me getting this? Have checked the CD, installed the whole lot again, still the same.

                  hey you guys thanks for all the help but I think that I have now solved it! It seems that I didn't have the libstdc++6 there for some reason. Went into Adept seached for that package which stated that it was upgradable, then (with trepidation) set it to upgrade and it did! Why the heck hadn't I tried this before?? Anyways, now got all upgrades so thanks for your help.
