This is a thread for 'interesting' new packages in the Hardy repositories. As it's still alpha, there are no guarantees they work as expected yet, posted here as a 'teaser' of what to expect.

qgrubeditor

graphical editor for GRUB boot manager settings
A tool to view and edit the menu.lst file of the GRUB boot manager. It offers
many features and it is the perfect solution for those who want to change the
way GRUB works, without messing with the menu.lst file.

webkitkde

web browser plugin for Konqueror using WebKit
An alternative web browser plugin for Konqueror in KDE 4 using
WebKit, a fork of KHTML.

i noticed qgrubeditor in the repo yesterday and installed it even tho i didn't need to. (who the heck needs a frontend to a text file, except a noob maybe?).

but, it seems very well produced. except it doesn't work for me. i tried to uncheck the quiet option but nothing happens. (it stays checked no matter what i try). so then i thought, since you need root priviliges to edit the grub file, i tried running qgrubeditor as su but that didn't work either...

1) Choose entry
2) Click 'Edit Entry' -> Entry Editor window opens
3) Do the tricks (uncheck/check Quiet)
4) Apply/Cancel, OK

Here QGRUBEditor is running as root (KDE menu: Run as a different user/Username:root)

And when noob clicks and clicks -> No more boot , time to read manuals . But the program seems to work.

Qgrubeditor tells:

Every time QGRUBEditor acces a file, automatically creates a backup, so as to prevent data loss. The backup file will always be named just like the original with a '_original' suffix. To restore the original file use the built-in feature of QRUBEditor of Restoring from a Backup.

BIG FAT NOTE: QGRUBEditor's development was discontinued and a new application has been created: KGRUBEditor(http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=75442). It contains exactly the same features and a lot more plus the fact that it is written in the KDE4 libraries. Please take a look at it.

An update: QGRUBEditor was replaced by KGRUBEditor in the repos.
