As noted earlier, Hardy seems to get the Samba file right. But I would like one small addition to System Settings -> Network and Connectivity - Samba:
Add new User group.
I would also like - somewhere in System Settings to have a more extended file and folder management - or something a little more intuitive regarding permissions. Perhaps just something that does work? Or it could be added to the File Manager, right-click Properties.
In my opinion with Hardy Kubuntu is very close to being as simple as Windows to install/upgrade and run, and probably simpler to keep updated.
