    Can't access a certain webpage in Firefox!!!

    I can't access the following page conf.ncku.edu.tw/iscas2009 both in Firefox and Konqueror! It's for the ISCAS 2009 conference. There is nothing wrong with my connection everything works fine.
    The same thing happened with this webpage www.tee.gr. The administrators suggested in editing the file /etc/sysctl.conf and add the following line:

    net.ipv4.tcp_rmem=4096 83784 174760

    Any ideas for this webpage? What kind of problem is this? Do you see the webpage?

      It doesn't appear to be a proxy issue - - they just don't appear.

      Typical firefox message at the first site;
      "The server at conf.ncku.edu.tw is taking too long to respond."

      Second site just 'loading' with nothing happening.

      I have no idea why we would need to add a line in the /etc/sysctl.conf file at this point.

      Edit:

      Firefox 2.0.x

        For the second site it worked though! But for the iscas 2009 website there is nothing i can do right now. Does anyone see the websites?

            It seems then that the linux users face a problem viewing the page then. Might be a bug? Should we post it somewhere else?

              I can see the first site okay with Firefefox 2.0.0.16 and Konqueror 3.5.8 on Kubuntu 7.10.
              The second site doesn't open, not even in Internet Explorer 6 on Wine.

                From a Windows box at my office, I can see both of them with FF 3.0.1. Can't see either from Linux/FF3. So I would say they are "wired for Windows". >

                  They both open immediately for me, FF3, Kubuntu 8.04.1, KDE 3.5.10.

                    No-go here. Neither page will open for me. I get:

                    The connection has timed out
                    The server at conf.ncku.edu.tw is taking too long to respond.
                    (and same for the other site)
