My laptop, using a wireless connection, connects to my router without any difficulty. (This is under Kubuntu 8.04.) However, it intermittently is unable to connect to anywhere else -- even machines on my local network that are wired into the router. Moreover, my cabled machines connect just fine to the rest of the world. I test all of this using ping.
What might account for this difference between connecting to the router and connecting beyond it, given that cabled machines have no such difficulty?
