speedtouch 330 in hardy

I can't figure how to connect to internet with my speedtoouch 330 ADSL modem, i tried many ways that i found on forums but none of them is working. In earlier versions there was no problem but in 8.04 i can't even find the revision model to figure what firmware to use. I am e novice maybe i, missing something or i am just stupid . Can somebody help me ?

Your best course of action is to get an ADSL router. You will then be able to set everything up via a menu in your browser, and it's so easy compared to the Speedtouch 330. I know: I used to use a Speedtouch 330, but no longer. Technology has moved on, and nowadays the average ADSL router is easy to buy and set up at a modest price.

I know the best solution bun not in my case the electrical power level is not stable and any fluctuation it will reset my modem i had one on my old cable connection. A powered line modem it will require a ups too so for the moment i will remain on usb modem.
