CUPS with Guarddog and print server

    Hey gang,

Alright. I have a CUPS print server that's running OpenSuSE 10.3 and its not the problem. I know that my Guarddog firewall is and I'm not sure why at the moment. First up, in Guarddog I have created a new zone for my internal LAN and all my PC's are on the same subnet. I've opened the IPP in guarddog for this zone. I've also opened port 515 which is the printing port (not sure if I needed to). All my printers from my servers show up on my KUbuntu client running Guarddog and CUPS. I go to print and big time hang. I turn off the firewall and the printing works. What's up? What ports am I missing in addition to 631 and 515? Much obliged for any insight into this dilemma. Thanks in advance.
    Regards,<br /><br />David

If the firewall is blocking packets, this is usually logged to /var/log/syslog. Try sending a print job, then run:
    tail /var/log/syslog
This should show you if any packets are being blocked. Also check for errors in /var/log/cups/error_log. If you don't understand what you're seeing, post it here.
