upgraded to 8.04 -- now no internet

i just upgraded kubuntu from 7.10 to 8.04 using the adept manager. now my wireless internet card isnt working. my computer is detecting the actual card but in KinfoCenter it says access denied and its not being labeled as wlan0 anymore. in the network manager only my wired network card (eht0) is showing up.

any suggestions?
