Since I am so used to other distros, I am having a bit of problem setting up a static address with an IBM Thinkpad Laptop.
lsmod shows the module being loaded "3c59x"
I am unable to get the /etc/network/interfaces config. to stick.
At present, it is:
auto lo loopback
iface lo inet loopback
iface eth0 inet static
address 208.71.x.y
netmask 255.255.255.z
gateway 208.771.a.b
This is directly from the DS3 downstairs ... via a 55mbit Mitrik router.
The other thing is; how in hell can i change the "sudo" command with the good old "su" password: type prompt. I just cant get used to typing sudo everytime
