Name/location of the network configuration file

    Hi.

I am looking for the name and location of the file that has the adaptor-specific network configuration information, such as IP address, DHCP on/off, gateway, etc., so I can manually edit it. Could anyone point me in the right direction?

For those familiar with the Red Hat system, what I'm looking for is the equivalent of /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0.

    Thanks!
    Dai

    /etc/network/interfaces

    man interfaces

    DESCRIPTION
/etc/network/interfaces contains network interface configuration infor‐
mation for the ifup( 8 ) and ifdown( 8 ) commands. This is where you con‐
figure how your system is connected to the network.
