Network manager refuses to connect to hidden network

After updating with Adept (only to KDE3) everything was fine until I tried to go wireless.

After the "hardware drivers manager" installed the new Broadcom B43, my wifi card was enabled, the network manager (NM) correctly reported there is a password protected network in my neighbourhood. However NM was unable to . connect to my own unbroadcasted wpa-protected network even after I had entered the data in "connect to other network". (In Gutsy this was the solution)

So I un-hid my network and am now connected -wifi. However, this is not a good solution, in terms of security.

Anybody know how to force network manager to respond to a hidden network when all the data are given?

it won't connect 'cause it's against the standard.
security wise, it doesn't make any difference whether or not your essid is broadcast.
    it's a myth.
    read here.
    even mickeysoft say the same...
    read myth 2.

the only important thing is to have wpa2, not wep.
    that's about security.

    so, my piece of advice...
leave broadcast on and make your life easier.

      Thank you again.
Yes, I guess I had better bow to that. Works fine and logs on automatically with un-hidden essid.
