Dolphin file xfers slow [solved-switched OpenGL to Xrender]

Dolphin is REALLY slow to respond in "selecting all" and then pasting... and when the progress bar finally shows, it drags. This is from hd partition to hd partition... not just usb.

The Krusader filemanager does this instantly.

It has something to do with OpenGL. I flipped to Xrender and EVERYTHING is faster. This might not make sense but it seems to be the case.

Just to check, I did the same thing on another computer and again, everything seems faster. I don't know why something involved with graphics would slow file transfers, but that seems to be the case. Amarok used to take forever to update. With Xrender selected rather than OpenGL for desktop effects, performance of the entire system is better.

Both machines have an Intel 915GM so perhaps it is just specific to my hardware.
