I am on Kubuntu 8.04 and a few days ago I have installed KDE 4.1.2 alongside my existing KDE 3. It worked just fine, I was able to log on either choosing new KDE 4.1.2. or the old one. Yesterday, a couple of updates were installed requiring reboot. For some reason I had a feeling that something wrong was going on. And indeed, when booting, KDE will not start. I get messages like this :
kinit: name_to_deb_t (/dev/disk/by-uuid/2c9aa696y sigue...
kinit: trying to resume from /dev/disk/by-uuid/2c.... y sigue
kinit: No resume image, doing normal boot...
and I can only log on via terminal. I have found a similar problem on http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...33#post5971533 .
Any ideas what to do ?
