adept updater gets stuck as i cant select an option to continue

Hi,
iam trying to update as the updater says there are 100 updates ready to install. Problem is when i try and update it sees that i have a modified grub bootloader and shows some options saying do i want to keep the old one or reinstall etc but i cannot select any of them? what can i do to get around this.

any help appreciated.

fixed it now. well not exactly i used synaptic package manager and it allowed me to select an option and continue, although i was disappointed with both as there was no warning if i hadnt opened the details bit i would not have seen the options in either manager.
