    Free space for partition

    Hello,

I am new here but this forum looks interesting. I have an external hd that I want to install Kubuntu 8.04 on. The drive has no free space as it has a windows partition and logical partitions from a previous distro. I want to use the partition area that has the other distro on it. What is the best way to get rid of these partitions? Should I delete them in xp or use another method?

    Thanks a bunch!

Many (here) would probably say to use GParted LiveCD to do your partitioning. It's what I use. You can obtain the LiveCD .iso file here. Just download the file to your HD and use your favorite CD burning software to create the LiveCD.

      Yep, agree.

      Should you need it:

(do you have Nero or some other iso-CD burning software in XP? -- if not there may be some free ones (in XP) if you post here and ask again, or google search say on "free CD burner" or similar)
