<SOLVED> Konqueror view mode: permanently set to "details"?

Is there a way to make Konqueror open directory displays in details mode by default. I HATE those blasted useless icons, and it keeps insisting on going to that view first. I've searched for how to change this and not found it.

Can anyone suggest a fix for this inflexible behavior? I'd be most grateful for a fix.

    vbgunz:
getting Konqueror to always show a tree is a surprisingly hidden feature. yes, you could get Konqueror to show a tree (even in web browing mode), here's how you do it.

    1. Alt+F2 > kcontrol
    2. navigate to "KDE Components" > "File Associations"
    3. under "Known Types" > inode > directory
    4. select the "Embedding" tab
    5. under "Services Preference Order" move "Tree View" to the top.

    Good luck!

Good Lord! That's about the most obscure thing I've ever seen. I won't even ask how you know such things - or where to find them. I'm just glad that you do. Thanks very much. This has been a major annoyance for me for a long time...but no more!
