    Ubuntu-Kubuntu-Ubuntu?

    Hi im a ubuntu user (The Hardy Heron) im thinking about switcing to kubuntu but im not sure how to do it? Can i swith back to ubuntu if i find "KDE is not for me i liked gnome better"? will i get a kubuntu or a 50/50 wortless hybrid between the 2 of them?

    Do you have a capability to "try before you buy"? Like VMware Player, or a spare 8GB partition on your hard drive? Desktop environments are really a matter of taste, and there's no way anyone else can know how you'll like KDE. If you could do a clean installation of Kubuntu on a trial basis, then you could play with it and decide if you want it permanently, or not.

    As far as installing it alongside your Gnome desktop, it's just
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop
    Then you pick your GUI to log into at the login splash.

          Virtualbox for starters, it's even in the repository. For USB support you'll need a different version though but to test Kubuntu it'll be fine.
