    Installation stuck at 75%

    Hi all,
I'm installing kubuntu 8.04.1 (Hardy Heron) on an old laptop (Pentium II, 64M RAM).
It's alright until he is uploading "languages" and it's stuck on 75% since about 6 hours and half.
I was looking around on other kubuntu forums (french and italian) for same problem but I didn't find any clear answer. Someone says that he had to wait 2 days to complete installation, someone else gave up.
What I have to do? I wait two days?

    (I uploaded kubuntu from http://releases.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/hardy/)

    Thank u very much

    PS
I've found for the answer on this forum too but I didn't find it, I'm sorry if this question was already done

I had the same problem when up-grading from Gutsy, both doing it via the internet and from an alternate-install CD. It got stuck both times at en_AU-UTF-8.

I gave it up as a Bad Job, and eventually downloaded the HH desktop from the page you reference and simply re-installed. It went flawlessly.

Before you started the install did you select "Check CD" on the menu? Maybe there is a problem with the disk.

Failing that, i would be inclined to start again, and check the CD before attempting to install, maybe switching off the router before-hand.

      Good Luck.

Is that 64MB of RAM. I believe you need at least 256MB for HH.

          Minimum requirements:

          Bare Minimum requirements

It should be possible to get Ubuntu running on a system with the following minimum hardware specification, although it is unlikely that the system would run well. You should use the Alternate install CD to attempt such an installation.

          * 300 MHz x86 processor
          * 64 MB of system memory (RAM)
          * At least 4 GB of disk space (for full installation and swap space)
          * VGA graphics card capable of 640x480 resolution
          * CD-ROM drive or network card
          and:
If your system has less than 192 MB of system memory, use the Alternate Installation CD.
          You could try xubuntu:

          http://www.xubuntu.org/get
HP Pavilion dv6 core i7 (Main)
          4 GB Ram
          Kubuntu 18.10
