kde 4.1 panel

KDE4 panel
OK I've tried KDE 4.1 in kubuntu.
1. Although I can move widgets about the panel when I release the arrow they revert to their previous position.
2. I can only get one time zone in the clock (with KDE 3 I can display two or more)
3. There is no facility for keyboard status.
4. How do I get application icons onto the panel?

1. You need to wait until a light gray square appears for the widget to drop onto.
4. You need to have widgets unlocked, then browse to the application you want in teh K Menu and right click for Add to Panel.

Tried both your suggestions .
1. The light grey area appears but the moved widget seems to please itself whether it stays in the new position or not.
2. A right click just opens the program.

I think I'll stick with kde 3 for the time being.
