A Way To Delete Temp Files At Boot??

I am completely new at using Kubuntu. I've used OpenSUSE and Mandriva for about three years or so, but just trying to get familiar with how to accomplish some tasks with Kubuntu.

With OpenSUSE and Mandriva, there is a simple way to set the system to automatically delete tmp files at boot. I'm wondering if there is a simple way to do that with Kubuntu and if someone could explain it to me. I'm using Kubuntu 8.0.4 Hardy Heron.

So far, I've pretty much been able to get all my questions answered searching forum posts here and everything seems to be working great with Hardy. I'm quite pleased with Hardy, for sure!

    Thanks in advance,

What kind of temp files ? That is, are all temp files in the same directory ? Are the temp files in the users home directory (no need to use root rights) ?

Here is an example how to clean trashcan on exit > FAQ: How to start programs when KDE starts or stops

    There are also:
    KDE 3.5
    /usr/share/autostart/

    KDE 4
    /usr/lib/kde4/share/autostart/

The applications that have desktop-files in the /autostart/ directory will be started/executed at the start. => Cleaning script.

Re: A Way To Delete Temp Files At Boot??

Thanks for the reply. I should have stated that I'm using KDE 3.5.

Perhaps I'm sort of confused here, so far as how Kubuntu keeps temp files, relative to Mandriva or OpenSUSE, so my question may not be relevant. Yes, I think the temp files I was referring to would be any saved in Home, thus nor requiring root access. At least in Mandriva, there was actually a tmp folder in Home, which would usually save files such as attachments which had been opened in Thunderbird email and often other email data, or possibly temp files created during that particular session. There was an option available in the Mandriva Control Center, where one could opt to "remove temp files at boot." The same basic procedure was available with OpenSUSE, as an option, through the control center. As I recall, the option to delete those temp files could be set as an option in the Control Center, under "Boot Options."

Possibly, Kubuntu doesn't create and save temp files from the current session, or possibly automatically deletes them when the system is rebooted. Sorry, I don't know how to explain it better than that. If so, then my question is moot.
