SORRY to bail on this one, but I simply cannot address all the problems I have on my desk, at it were. Have to prioritize. I see so many KDE4 problem reports on this forum, and KDE4 is NOT required in any way to solve the central computers in my life, so I'm abandoning this issue. I assume that by the next release of Kubuntu, or the one after that, KDE4 will be working. Or not. I'm not sure that it matters, from where I sit.
