I just have a quick question. I am receiving a new laptop from work. the laptop comes with windows xp and DOS OSs. If I decide to install kubuntu by using wubi, will it find the OS for DOS as well?
what is wubi? Why not install with standard installation and use GRUB as boot manager. GRUB will find your windoze installation. Don't know if it still applies, but windoze should be on the first partition of the first disk.

Thanks gnowak, I understand that, My question was even if I decide to use the regular installation, will it be able to find my DOS partition?
I heard that wubi is the name of the installation that allows us to install Ubuntu from within windows like a regular windows program. Maybe it has another name.

The answer is a definite yes. However, you should be aware that a wubi installation is slower and can be a real pain to upgrade to name two of the many drawbacks I have experienced with wubi stuff.
You may want to do a wubi to get a feel for kubuntu, but as soon as you know whether you want it or not it is time to put it on your hard disk proper.

Dude, thanks a lot, I just needed a definitely answer. I have been using Kubuntu for a few years but I did not know how the partitioning software was going to work if there were more than one OS. Have a great day.
