kubuntu 8.04 permission stop

Help----I've installed 8.04 and I can't get the cd burner to burn----cyberdrv CW058d-----I noticed during the install that it stopped just before completion and said I needed some "permission", but that if I didn't know what that was just continue....................I noticed the same "stop" during and installation of Ubuntu---with the same "no-burn" result. Any clues as to what this permission might be and how to cure it?

Please be a bit more specific. Specify which cd-burner you have installed, and eventually include an install log.
