my kubuntu won't load till the end after xp reinstall

    Hello, I'm new here

After doing a new windows xp installation, and grub restoring from kubuntu live cd,
I tried to launch kubuntu from grub I got error Not found... or something like Couldn't read partition
That's strange because I didn't repartitionned my drive at all... anyway I just changed the partition number (you know that hd(0,x)) to what it was minus 1 and it booted

but it stops after a while on these lines :

I don't really know what can help
so I recorded all the boot messages in this video :
(mediafire) 41,8 Mb high quality mov file

    my grub list file

I tried to let it go for more than half an hour, but still id won't do anything
in fact, I can type something...

    Dorian,
    from France

I don't think you have a GRUB problem since you got it to boot your Kubuntu.
But you do have some sort of Kubuntu issue, which someone may be able to help you with here.

As for GRUB, just one thing. Your boot entry for XP is:

    title Windows XP
    map (hd0,0) (hd0,1)
    map (hd0,1) (hd0,0)
    rootnoverify (hd0,1)
    makeactive
    chainloader +1

So, XP is on (hd0,1), right? That is the first hard drive (i.e., hd0), the SECOND partition, indicated by the “1.”

First, are you sure that XP is not on (hd0,0), i.e., the first partition?
It's OK if it is on the second partition, I'm just checking this with you.

Now, assuming XP is on (hd0,1), you do NOT need the map commands; in fact, the map commands will not map partitions—they will only map hard drives, hdx's. Basically, your map commands will be ignored (I believe). But to clean it up and make it simpler to read, this will work:

    title Windows XP
    rootnoverify (hd0,1)
    makeactive
    chainloader +1
(you also don't need makeactive, but everyone uses it, so it's ok)

You must edit menu.lst "as root" and then File > Save the changes.
