Can't remove icon from desktop

I'm running Kubuntu Hardy Heron. I downloaded a program called Super. It is a video converter. Turns out it only works with Windows. Doesn't work with WINE in Linux. My problem is the supersetup.exe icon is on my desktop and I have tried everything to remove it and everytime I reboot it is there!!! Any ideas on how to get rid of it? Hopefully it's a simple solution that I'm just missing.

most likely u don't have permissions (i dont' know why) to remove it.

try this in the Terminal

sudo chown -R username:username pathtofilefile

and re-try ur request again

or

sudo rm pathtofile

Click on your /home directory then click desktop folder. Right click and move to trash and it's gone. Yep, not the easiast way to do it but ...

I tried both of these ideas but no luck. I tried a cold reboot and supersetup.exe is still there. I'm a newbee but this makes no sence to me. It's like a virus that won't let go !! >

Open up Konsole.

Enter:

cd Desktop

Enter:

ls -al

Copy and paste the results here.

Hello All,
I brought in the "Heavy" He's the guy that started me on Linux(Kubuntu)
He tracked down and handled this problem for me and of course it was too simple as most things are. Here's what he did:
System Settings>Advanced>Session Manager under ON LOGIN selected "Start with an empty session"
This totally handled it!! I had no idea.
Thank you guys for all your help. I really appreciated it.
