My topic was removed somehow, but again I am asking why hardy heron does not install on jbod disk config while gutsy gibbon installed smoothly.
I assumed they did not add the Nvidia sata drivers in the new distribution as a fresh install did not find any harddisk. Upgrading gutsy gibbon seemed to go fine, but when restarting grub was not found. So next time I exempted the grub upgrade and kept the old kernel 2.6.22.14 . That went fine but when I also made an entry for the new kernel (2.6.24.16) in menu.lst and started with the new kernel start-up hangs. If I check the disk with the life cd (mounting kubuntu working directory as /kubuntu) then I see that the directory /kubuntu/boot/grub has been removed by trying to start with the new kernel.
Does anybody have a solution available?
