Two desktops loaded

I downloaded Hardy and ended up with two desktops!! When I boot I get the Kubuntu loading screen. When it is done loading it turns to Ubuntu Gnome desktop.
I want Kubuntu. Any suggestions from anyone on how to get Kubuntu only?

HOWTO: correctly install/remove k/x/ed/ubuntu-desktop packages

Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.
