Cannot Install Packages After Separating Home Into it's Own Partition [SOLVED]

I'm going to start by yelling "F1 F1 F1" or in other meaning "Help!"

I've successfully installed Kubuntu 8.04 on my desktop. Used the manual partitioning with two partitions, System & Swap. Everything went normally & system running up & was able to install new packages. "Home is within the system"

Now, for my laptop, I have 2 Partitions for Windows, swap, home & system. "Home in it's own partition" That's the only difference in the installation.
After I've finished installation, time for package updates, Firefox, Thunderbird ... etc.

I cannot seem to get any of that!

In Adept Installed I only get the installed components while others are shaded gray "but not all programs are there" Cannot Find Firefox Nor Thunderbird. Also games only display Bugsx shaded gray.

Help is mostly valued.

Which 'flavor' of 8.04 did you install? KDE 3.5.9 or the remix CD (with KDE 4)? First thing to check is to open Adept Manager > Adept > Manage Repositories > Kubuntu Software and make sure that both, universe and multiverse repositories are checked. Second, click on the Third-Party Software tab and ensure that the cdrom repository is unchecked. After this, click on Close and Adept should fetch updates.

If you haven't already done so, you should probably add the medibuntu repository (assuming it isn't already listed and marked in the Third-Party Software tab).

Am using 8.04 with KDE 3.5.9
I've checked what you have mentioned, everything seems to be checked/unchecked
There are only 3 things in the list of 3rd party tab & all unchecked.
Basically what I've done is

sudo wget [url]http://www.medibuntu.org/sources.list.d/hardy.list[/url] -O /etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install medibuntu-keyring && sudo apt-get update

And it worked, am downloading my packages now ; )

BTW, I've checked the repositories, but they are still the same.

And the question is, why did the system behave this way? Does it really has to do with the /home directory? "Strange ha?"
