Installed the 64Bit version in the length of time it took wife to take a shower!

Well what can I say.. here I sit with a functional desktop installed and working in about 30 mins... incredible. And I'm not using a 10K RPM drive either.

Flash is working spiffy here on my 64Bit install too so YAY!

You gotta be careful how you title your posts, m8.
I had visions of someone standing in the shower *for hours on end* just so you can install..... ("Oh Kev, can I come out of the shower now, pleeeaaazzzz?") .

Just joking, m8. I know, the install procedure is pretty fast, and so is the result, isn't it?

Yup the 64Bit version does seem to be much snappier. But I don't have the nVidia drivers and desktop effects running yet though. So that might change.

I am still using 32-bits on my 64-bit AMD, because many things used to not work on 64-bits like flash (which appears to be ok now) and especially the Java-plugin functionality.

Another point is that you get a mixture of 64-bit and 32-bit applications on your machine, forcing many double incarnations of shared and non-shared libraries on you.

As soon as that all is fixed I will switch back to 64-bit.
