I can't install Hardy RC (neither alternate nor desktop editions), because the dialog box for chosing the partition layout is empty, as if there were no hard-disks. Going to command line, there is no /dev/sd*
The same problem happens with Fedora 8 install DVD, but not in Fedora 7 (installed and everything running finely) and in Feisty live CD. I've checked CD md5sum, they're correct. The installation on my laptop (Acer 5050) worked normally.
Specs:
* MB: Asus A8V-MX
* Athlon64 3000+
* videocard: GeForce 6200
* HD: SATA
* RAM: Kingston 1Gb
It looks like a module problem or something in the initialization of hardware. I think that a boot parameter could solve the problem, but I don't know exactly how.
In Fedora 7, the ID of the SATA controler with the command lscpi is:
00:0f.0 IDE interface: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8251 AHCI/SATA 4-Port Controller
