Hi, I've just upgraded from 7.10 to 8.04, and some of my hardware is either not being detected properly, or not being detected at all, I'm not 100% sure.
Anways, after upgrading, I turned my computer off rather than rebooting as it was late, and had to work in the morning. I came home and turned my computer on for the first time since the upgrade and immediately notice a few problems.
Neither my network card, nor my sound card are working. Both devices are integrated, and as far as I can tell, they aren't being detected at all. When I first installed 7.10, I had absolutely no issues, what so ever.
I've done a quick search of google and the forums, but haven't found any similare topics.
I dual boot both Kubuntu and Windows XP, and when the GRUB loader screen shows up, it gives me additional options, that weren't there before.
Before, the only options I had were to boot to Kubuntu or to boot to windows.
Now I have the option to boot to
Ubuntu 8.04, kernel 2.6.24-16-generic
Ubuntu 8.04, kernel 2.6.22-14-generic or
Windows
Now, If I boot to kernel 2.6.22.14, everything works perfectly fine, but when I boot to kernel 2.6.24.16, thats when I get the problem.
Sorry if my post is a little confusing, but it's fairly late right now. I'm not sure where to begin looking to fix this problem, or what the problem even really is, so any help is greatly appreciated. Also, I'm fairly new to linux, so the simpler the better.
