HARDY save settings on close

there was a time when I knew how to do this ...

restart > remember what programs etc were running (and what desktop they're on) > put them back again when it restarts

I can't remember where this function lives- seems to me it was something stupidly simple like a checkbox ...

anyone?

Alt-F2 "kcontrol" > KDE Components > Session Manager > On login > x Restore Previous Session
