So here's whats happening. This machine currently runs 7.10 Ubuntu flawlessly, but I wanted to see what 8.04 K was like (I actually am starting to like KDE more than Gnome!) HPET is OFF!!
I took another hard disk, ran Killdisk on it (zeroed), and attempted a fresh install.
DLd both the 32 and 64 bit versions, made the install CDs. Tried em both. I can boot LiveCD fine, when I go to install, the 32 bit version claims it finishes, then when it reboots, I get a bootstrap error from BIOS that the Hard Disk cannot boot. I've tried this about 4 times, same result.
With 64 bit, it hangs at 29% every time during install.
FYI its yesterday's Beta build
Not sure where to post the bug, or how I can help diagnose further.
Thanks
Dan
