    Upgrading

I have always done my upgrades from the command like this.

    Edit my sources.list
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get upgrade
    sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

I run these commands two or three times or until there are no further changes. Then I reboot.

I have bee looking at several of the blogs and most point to this link or one very much like it. Is this a better way? The apt-get has served me well since dapper and debian before that. What is the reason this method is be promoted? Is Hardy different from past versions? Am I out of touch?

    Re: Upgrading

Not answering your question, David, but agreeing wholeheartedly with it. I have done the same thing quite successfully for some time. Look forward to hearing an answer (hopefully before April 24th).

      Re: Upgrading

I did the online upgrade mentioned in the announcements.

      Alt+F2
      Code:
      kdesu "adept_manager --dist-upgrade-devel"
I haven't played with it much. FF 3 does seem faster. I kept my samba setup which it recommended.

      I will let you know.
