How to Burn 4500 MB Kubuntu 8.04 Daily Build DVD .ISO image on a 4.7 GB DVD +R ?

    hi everyone

I'm unable to burn 4500 MB Kubuntu 8.04 Daily Build DVD .ISO image on a 4.7 GB DVD +R. [ PC : Intel x86 image file from Kubuntu DVD download page: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/dvd/current/ ]

Precisely the Kubuntu 8.04 DVD image file size is 4,718,348,288 bytes ( 4500 MB ) while 4.7GB DVD can store only 4,700,372,992 bytes ( 4482 MB ). I guess DVD burning software is not a problem here as I've tried Magic ISO, IsoBuster, Nero 8.2.8.0 and Infra Recorder.

Is there any other way to burn Kubuntu DVDs than using 8.5 GB disc?

    Many thanks in advance.

If you have Nero 6.3.1.15 or greater you can "overburn" DVDs. You say you tried Nero 8.2.8.0 so, with Nero it would just be a question of telling it that you are willing to use overburn. Also, if you try to put the ISO file on the DVD, even with overburn it won't fit because it will create a file system in addition to the .iso file. If you burn the ISO image to the DVD, the ISO includes the file system and thus it will fit.

"Burn ISO to Device" Vs making a DVD with an .iso file on it.

So try Nero again, and make sure you have overburn enabled and that you use it without any project and once all the projects are closed you look for "Burn ISO to*" in the menus.
