I just installed the SpliX printer drivers and I see nothing in my KDE printer install wizard. I know what I'm supposed to to see because I just installed the same thing on the BSD print server. However on this Kubuntu install the driver is not showing up, although it does in the Kubuntu CUPS page on this computer. What am I missing?
Second part of the problem. I can't find any way to configure a remote printer. This worked just fine when the remote was a Linux box running CUPS, but changing to BSD and still using CUPS has completely broken the connection on my end. The port remains the same and only the IP has changed. Is there an easier way than using the wizard?
I think the real problem comes from this error message:
How do I get the CUPS server connected again? It's been running for years now.

I think the real problem comes from this error message:
Code:
An error occurred while retrieving the list of available backends: Connection to CUPS server failed. Check that the CUPS server is correctly installed and running.
