Dell Optiplex GX260 Graphics Card Problem

I have Kubuntu Hardy Heron on my Dell Optiplex GX260 but the screen is not working properly. I can see everything on the screen but it stucks.. looks like the graphics card is not installed . When i go to Kcontrol and click looks into graphics card i see Intel 845 detected which is the same hardware that i m having but the screen is working slowly. when i click test button the screen becomes grey with dots in there and then i need to restart the PC using power cable or power button . I have attached an screen shot with this post which says that only 256K of Video Ram but I have 8MB on board but I cant change from here .

If you boot into recovery mode (from grub) you can reconfigure xorg which IIRC may well also let you configure the video memory.
