    Can't copy to iPod

I have a Gen 5.5 80GB Ipod Video. When I plug it in to the USB port it automagically mounts as /media/IPOD, but a couple of things won't work. I have tried gtkpod and Floola, both of which I have used before with this device, but neither of them will allow me to copy files, either mp3 or mp4. I installed gtkpod-aac from the repos. While I try to copy an mp3 with gtkpod, it fails with error 5. I have searched and can't find a fix relevant to my problem. When I try and copy an mp3 or mp4 with Floola, nothing happens when I drop a file on the copy window. Another possible related symptom is that when I try to 'Safely Remove' it unmounts but does not eject my ipod. When I issue 'sudo /dev/sdd2 it does eject. Help.

    sudo eject /media/IPOD

(or whatever your IPOD is called - watch the case).

No help with your other problem... other than to suggest taking a look at Songbird.

Thanks. Note the last sentence in my post. Songbird won't copy videos.

        :P I swear I read a "doesn't" there.

I believe Amarok 1.x allowed for coding the eject command for easy removal... perhaps 2.x does as well (I don't really use my 5.5G iPod much with linux, so my experience is limited. Sorry.)

Yes, Amarok does allow you to include an eject command. Like Songbird, it will only do audio. I also need to copy video. Floola will do both when it is working, unfortunately it's not.
