Compiz not working! is my graphic card?

Hello everyone,

I have installed recently Kubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04 and I wanted to try the graphic effects. so I went to:
K menu > System > Desktop effects
I clicked on "install". Then the adept manager downloaded the packages and, I think, installed them. But my desktop didn't change!!
Is it my graphics that do not supports the effects?
I have an NVIDEA GeForce Go 6400 with TurboCache supporting 128 MB, and 512 of RAM.

First, with KDE settings, change your number of "multiple desktops" to 1. (Default is 2 or 4, depending).

Then, KMenu > System > Settings > Compiz Config Settings Manager. In "General" set the horizontal desktop size to 4. Then go down and click the "Desktop Cube" (which will require that you agree that it replaces "Desktop Wall" -- click your wobbly windows or whatever you want. Google "compiz ccsm" and you'll get about a zillion hits on stuff you can do with it.
