Hi,
I have Kubuntu 8.04 with updates up to 10 Nov 2008 on Dell Latitude C840
Usb Pendrive and External hard disks automounting was working fine.
Yesterday I Installed Virtual Box and VMware on it. Installed XP on Both for evaluation.
Still USB was working Fine. During Evaluation Phase I tried to test USB support on Both
Virtual Box It didn't and still not working But VMware gave me warning that device is
controlled by some other driver and asked me to unmount it. Till this phase It was
automounting Pendrive well. Later after clicking OK to above message it was detected
in XP and was mounted well. Today when I tried to Plug in Pendrive in Ubuntu it is not
automounting. But still with same warning message VMware is able to Mount it
The output of $lsusb is as follows
Bus 002 Device 008: ID 058f:6387 Alcor Micro Corp. Transcend JetFlash 110 USB 2.0 Flash Drive (2GB)
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
after unplugging pendrive output is
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
means hardware is detected by Ubuntu but not automounted .
Can somebody help me getting automounting functionality back ?
Thanks and best regards
