[Solved] Resuming from suspend doesn't turn on screen

I have a Compaq 8510p laptop. When using suspend the screen never comes to life. There is no errors shown in /var/log/messages which would tell what happened. With hibernate it works sometimes, but not everytime.

Any help to this would be very cool, thanks .

From '/var/log/messages' when I resume from suspend (with first two lines after powercycling).
    Code:

Re: Resuming from suspend doesn't turn on screen

How large is your swap space? Although swap is theoretically not "needed" for new Linux installations, you really do need it for hibernate/suspend to RAM. You need the swap space to be slightly larger than your physical memory, to ensure that all of memory plus a bit can go to the swap space when you suspend.

kinfocenter will show it graphically. Run it from Alt-F2 or the konsole.

I used the changes in here
        http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...opic=3086804.0

And tried the suspend couple of times and it seems to be working now, yay !
