    Wireless usb adapter

    Hello,

    I have just installed Kubuntu 8.04. I am trying to figure out how to configure my Actiontec wireless usb adapter. Do I need to go into the network kontrol panel? Thanks for any hekp.

    Hi

    When I first used my usb wireless adapter the knetwork manager recognized it straight away and start up automatically which I thought was amazing. It did not take long to connect to the wireless router and I was away.

    However if you are stuck open your Kmenu>Internet>Networkmanager (or Knetworkmanager) should be there.

    Open this and have a look if your usb adapter is recognized on there and report back here.

      No it's not there. I have ndiswrapper installed but cannot figure out how to install the windows driver to it.

        oh dear sorry...not good on drivers etc

            I have a Sagem USB WiFiadaptor which quotes W98/SE/ME/2000/XP/Vista. I also have a PCMCIA adaptor WL-0022, which refers to Windows 95, 98, 98SE, Millennium, NT, 2000 and XP computers. Is there any chance that I could use either of these with Kubuntu?
