I could have sworn it worked perfectly under Gutsy, anyway for some reason I have to power cycle the burner to even be able to open it to insert a dvd. I might or might not get the "what do you want to do with this?" message. And sometimes the dvd icon shows up on the desktop. When it does, and I right click on the icon and and select open with k3b, k3b tries to load and crashes, then the icon disappears and I can't eject the dvd until I power cycle it (or use a paper clip to manually eject it).
One thing I just thought of (and I'm not at home to try it) is that it's plugged into a powered USB2.0 hub. The printer works off the same hub and I've gotten USB thumbdrives to work off it too. I may try using a port on the PC itself unless someone has ideas I can try.
