    simple 'undelete' command line software?

    Hi!

I have erased few files and directories in my /home/[username].
I have tried to find software to help to restore the lost files and directories.
I know a little about dd and ddrescue, but they look complex for me.
Is there any 'internal' command for restoring files and directories
from my Kubuntu distribution, or a simple software like undelete
    from MS-DOS?
    No complex solution please...

Unless you run a journalling file system, I doubt this is possible. The trend is to delete permanently for security/privacy reasons.

You talk about ext3, the journaled file system? Or an external software?

Do you have any URL about this subject?

      Thanks!

Could be any journaling FS. Basically, a journaling FS don't change anything in a file, it just writes a new block, relinks to it and remembers where the old block is, until you run out of disk space.

No, sorry. Just my observation on where the major OS and FS are going.
