Earlier I installed the ATI Catalyst 8.7 package in Kubuntu. Woohoo, now I have 3D!
It was easy to find a how-to. I didn't even need to post anywhere. I didn't quite understand what some of the steps were doing, but now I have a vague idea how to install stuff that isn't as simple as going to the "Add/Remove Programs" menu item.
FWIW, I have a Radeon X1650, AGP version.
