I have been running Kubuntu 8.04 on my development Dell Vostro 1510 laptop (with X3100 graphics) for sometime, but have recently started to look in to running games (and programming opengl). According to glxinfo:
direct rendering: No
and the colour chart at the bottom has nothing but 'None' in. (I'd at least expect some 'slow').
glxgears runs with a fps of about 950 and I have successfully been running Compiz.
I tried changing from VESA drivers (which was set as default) to the intel drivers but the direct rendering is still reported as 'no' (which playonlinux seems to be picking up) and I can't even play Tomb raider 2 at a decent frame rate.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
