    Accessing a USB flash drive

When I plug in my USB flash drive, nothing seems to happen and I can't figure out how to get access to it. It shows up when I call lsusb, but /proc/bus/usb has nothing in it, and it's not listed when I call mount. There's nothing pertaining to it in /etc/fstab either.

This ought to be pretty basic, but I can't get it to work.

You might try Disk & Filesystems:

    K-Menu
    System Settings
    Advanced tab
    Disk & Filesystems
    Administrator mode
    Right-click on the USB
    Modify
and check all the right boxes.

If you see it as /dev/sdc1
them a mount point might be
    /media/sdc1

Yep, what Qqmike said, plus -- if it is NTFS formatted, you have a slightly more complicated problem, but it is solvable.
