Hello,
I just changed my motherboard (everything else being the same, i.e. CPU, RAM, GPU etc.).
I didn't reinstall linux, and almost everything works fine (even the integrated Giga ethernet adapter).
The only problem is with the integrated audio.
The new motherboard is an ASUS M3N-HD/HDMI board, with a Realtek Azalia audio chip - here's the output of lspci:
The integrated audio card of the previous motherboard was working fine, while this new one gives me lots of problems. With Amarok, I can hear mp3s, but if there's something that uses CPU (sometimes also just moving the mouse) I can hear ugly crackling noises (the same noise you would hear when playing a data CD in an old audio-CD player).
When I try to play games, or to play mp3s with Kaffeine, I get only noise.
So... is it that my new audio card is not supported? Or should I reinstall the audio system, with some sort of "hardware-detect" wizard? Or should I reinstall the whole system (ARGH!)?
Thanks,
Cristian
[Edit: All those "NVidia Corporation Unknown Device" messages are rather scary... Is my board supported at all?!?]
