No sound - Intel D915GEV Motherboard

Just wanted to pass along a problem solved in Kubuntu 8.04 involving Intel D915 series motherboards. I've spent quite a bit of time trying to solve a no sound problem with this board. The fix for me was quite simple as follows -

a) Go to terminal and type -

b) sudo apt-get install libflashsupport <enter>

The above file fixed sound problems not related to flash. The file does not show up in the Adept file manager. The description of the file under Synaptic is a little strange as well but it solved my non-flash problems.

I suspect that the problem has to do, not with Flash, but with Pulse Audio. I have no idea why it works. Note that the word "clutch" in Synaptic description is more properly spelled "kluge", (an inelegant solution to a complex problem).
