    Distorted screen with Hardy

    I've installed 8.04 from the live CD and am having problems with my screen.

    The moment it gets to the login screen the screen gets offset diagonally multiple times.

    Gutsy is running fine on this setup but 8.04 is not.

    Can anyone suggest what I need to do please?

    What about gfx drivers.. have you tried different ones?

      I was just reading on another forum that a wrong refresh rate in a modeline in the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file was the cause of a shift of the display screen (left or right) from centered. Apparently the rate that the display needed was 75Hz but for some reason the installation set it at 60. Just guessing here ....
